Working on Me

I started this about a month ago in January and I am just posting it now but a lot has happened causing the delay so here goes.

So many wonderful blessings have happened they have put me in mind of dealing with self. Some things have been praying on my mind so strong that I woke up startled with the strongest compelling thoughts. I am obligated to get and keep my life in order. First must be forgiveness of self and others; I went on a crusade to see justice done to the people who stole my home. Maybe that crusade motivated me to fight back but at this point, I recognize that forgiveness was not included in my crusade and that is not a right way of thinking or being. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying I am giving up the fight they are two different things. Forgiveness to me means letting go of my pain and anger which I can do while still getting the word out regarding mortgage fraud and predatory lenders. They are two different things.

I cannot be a good steward over my own life if I cannot forgive those who have harmed me. Now let us be clear, that does not mean be a fool it does not mean accept people’s garbage and it does not mean I am obligated to associate with everyone nor they with me. We all have our own little ways that can work nerves. For me forgiveness means letting you be you and me be me blessing you and praying for your peace of mind.

I will continue to write my web site and blog keeping the public informed on what has happened but I am releasing the hatred and anger I felt toward ALL of them.

(Next blog will be on family; it’s a good thing I am the only one reading this!!!!!)

Mortgage Fraud Updated News

Wow, so much as happened since I last posted; I am going to break up my posts to cover various topics.

First, Felix Daniel has been sentenced to 8 years in federal prison. His surrender date is October 1, 2013. His restitution and forfeiture is $4,473,531.30.

I have decided I no longer want to think about this man anymore; I feel the pain of his family especially his son who spoke at sentencing and I believe they are sorry for what happened to the homeowners. At this time I am finished with Mr. Daniel. I will continue to pray for him and his family and I wish him peace in and out of prison.

The next federal case is for the disbarred attorney Avalon Betts-Gaston who has hired a new attorney (Jennifer Bonjean of Bonjean Law Group, PLLC 142 Joralemon Street Suite 5A Brooklyn, NY 11201). There is a status hearing scheduled for August 7, 2013 8:45am. Hopefully this can go to trial soon and we the victims can move on; wouldn't it be wonderful if she just "woman up" and make a deal? Oh well, I pray for her also.

Forgiveness Part 2

Well we are starting to wind down on the mortgage fraud cases; one has pleaded guilty, another trial is due to start Monday March 11th and another trial is scheduled for July 1st.  One of the most important things I have gotten out of my church is a new understanding on forgiveness. Forgiveness is not for the other person; it is for me.  Now I’ve had difficulty understanding that sentence. What do I need to forgive myself for? Well, my fear of losing my home instead of trusting in God to protect my home led me to the clutches of the scam artists and for that I needed to understand, forgive myself and let go.

Forgiveness does not mean forget; it doesn’t mean be silent, not sharing with others what happened to me; it means letting go of the pain. Stop giving the crooks power over me through my constant anger. Retribution is not mine; holding onto pain causes me more harm so yes, I am ready to forgive.

I will keep my web site up, my Twitter and Facebook accounts going strong for they are avenues for others who have gone through what I have. It’s important to share the knowledge I have gained through this “adventure” to help and guide others in what to do and where to get help.

Mortgage fraud is a blight on our country and those who do it have no shame and no concern for those whose homes they victimized. They are in the gutter and I’m going to leave them in the gutter; hopefully the day will come when they go to God for forgiveness but that’s on them.

One Guilty Plea So Far

I have gone through various stages in accepting and dealing with D'Mona Ross's guilty plea on February 15, 2013. I thought I should feel joy, satisfaction, pleasure, justice and yet I did not feel those things. Angry, yes; but none of the other self righteous feelings one would think of when one of the people responsible for so much grief pleads guilty. Am I at the forgiving stage? Not yet; time will bring that on after everyone involved has had their day in court.

D’Mona Ross’s guilty plea was expected on February 12, 2013 until Judge Shadur asked her if she had “full understanding” and was “prepared to acknowledge what the government has charged” at which point the tears started to flow. Ms. Ross stated that while she may have been guilty under the law she “did not feel that she had done anything wrong”. Naturally this brought the end to the proceeding that day and it was continued until February 15, 2013 so she could once again confer with her attorney. On February 15, Ms. Ross again was asked the same questions and this time without the tears she accepted responsibility and her plea of guilty was accepted by the court. Sentencing was delayed until after she testifies in other cases.

It's too bad Ms. Ross apparently did not read the disbarment documents of her co-defendant Avalon Betts-Gaston (disbarred November 19, 2012); she would have seen how she D'Mona Ross was blamed for just about everything. Per the Disbarment Recommendation March 30, 2011 Ms. Ross's co-defendant Avalon Betts-Gaston stated "Respondent (Avalon Betts-Gaston) had no experience with mortgage loans, so she trusted Ross to handle that aspect of the business. Regarding IJCN (In Jesus Christ's Name), Respondent trusted Ross, and Ross took advantage of her. If Respondent knew what Ross was doing, she never would have gotten involved with her.” I believe there was a saying about sinking ships!!

My concern was how easy it was for Ms. Ross to believe she had done nothing wrong. She was only being tried for what she did in the company "In Jesus Christ’s Name". Isn’t it sad that she and her co-defendant would use the name of Jesus Christ to steal the homes and dreams of others and then cry for herself when asked “do you take responsibility”? Ms. Ross has not been tried for her role in RYM Technology, as of date she has not apologized to any of the victims of any of the crimes and yet she cried for herself. Ms. Ross bought a mansion located at 6 Fox Lane Palos Park, Illinois (listed at $735,000 see below). The mansion has a built in in-ground full size swimming pool, beautiful grounds, exclusive neighborhood. Now it’s true she doesn’t live there anymore but oh when she did; I was told the parties and wine flowed. Whose money D’Mona went into that house? You should have invited your victims to a party, let us break bread and swim indoors.

My heart went soft when I saw her cry in court; my thoughts were “ok, if she testifies in the other cases including RYM Technology, speaks the truth I can lend my voice toward probation” and then two things happened. (1) Failure to acknowledge and finally after coming to court and acknowledging her guilt upon leaving the courtroom in the hallway she looked me in my face and (2) was laughing. So much for guilt! Now my church has been working hard with me trying to get me to understand "let it go" but I have to admit; I have a long way to go. So time will tell but a honest heartfelt “I’m sorry” to all victimized in all of the companies she was associated with without the laughter afterwards would go a long way to remove our pain.

New Journey

I have made a decision that I believe will not only enrich my life but also show me what I already have in me, the ability to forgive and maintain my peace. I have decided to become a member of Christ Universal Temple. I find such joy, openness and welcome every time I walk through the doors I believe that at this time in my life that is where I need to be. Now contrary to what may be thought this is not a difficult move for me; I am a Muslim, I believe there is no God but God. As a Muslim I believe in the Christ and I believe that we as the children of God ALL have the Christ within us so by joining C.U.T. I am expanding not only my knowledge but understanding of self. This brings me a great deal of pleasure and I look forward to the journey.

Forgiveness

I wonder about myself and my inability to let go. Is letting go the same as forgiveness? At this point I don’t know if I am capable of either one. There are days when I want to just say enough but then the arrogance and disrespect shown by those who committed mortgage fraud against us makes me question if I can ever just let it go. I think it’s time I got back into my spirituality for I am truly tired of the struggle and yet to quit now would be to let those who committed mortgage fraud against us win.

I have subscribed for years to the Daily Inspiration for Better Living from Christ Universal Temple and today’s reading is “Gratitude Day” and it says “Today, I give thanks for divine order even in the mist of chaos,” when I came to that sentence it got me to thinking that there is a divine order in everything and it is up to me to find and follow that order.

Also my migraines are for me the true definition of chaos but in standing up and speaking out I hope to bring about a small form of order back to my life and hopefully to those who were scammed. So I guess I can’t quit the fight now but I am going to work on forgiving. Is it possible to forgive and still fight back?
