Farmers Market -Peaches

I wanted to start canning peaches so naturally I headed for the Farmers Market, what a disappointment! I went to the market on the Southside (Chicago) first there was very little food and what was there was soft and looked terrible. The peaches were overly soft, busted open as if they had just been dumped in the bin and flies were everywhere. It was disgusting! The final insult was the cost of the peaches was higher than at the grocery store. We need farmers to be able to bring their produce to the public but if this is an example of what is being brought into black communities then they need to stay away. I say this because I go to farmers markets across the city and it was awful to see this garbage dumped in areas that need fresh food. I wonder if the city inspects.
